After a long few weeks of working nothing is more relaxing then hitting a cottage, lazing on the beach and hanging by a bonfire for a few days with people you care about. What's great about doing this is that it is such a wholesome activity that brings people together. Relaxing is a hard thing to do in western society, and being able to do that with a group of people really is a bonding experience. Being relaxed and away from civilization with people who matter really creates an environment where you can truly get to know a person, on such a non-superficial level. There's something about crashing water, fire crackling and eating fresh corn on the cob that is both nostalgic and soothing. You're placing yourself in a much more humble and relaxing environment and combining that with sincere friendships is such a beautiful thing if you ask me. It helps you let go of your ego enough to appreciate the humble qualities that your friends have to offer.
