Day 68 - ethnic food

We are so lucky to live in a country where we have so many cultures at our disposal. You can walk down most downtown cores of any city and spot at least a handful, if not more, ethnic restaurants. Having this option is such a novelty. Food, I think, is one of the few things that really lets you understand and experience other cultures quite vividly. And although they may not be in their country of origin, when these foods are presented and prepared in their most traditional way possible, it helps to open your horizons to the variety in the world. Its letting people share something that from where come from is a form of nourishment and a ritual, with people who are open to accepting it. Having such a wide range of choices and potential experiences at our disposal is such a blessing, because it a step in accepting, understanding and embracing 'difference' in this world.
