At first meeting, genuinely wanting to listen to the other person's opinion and whatever they have to say is a very necessary part of developing good relationships with people. I was riding in a car today for a little over an hour with three friends, and a person whom none of us really knew. This could have been a very uncomfortable situation for this person, however my friends made it a very welcoming environment. I was really glad to see that the potentially awkward social situation was alleviated because people were politely welcoming to the stranger in our car. And the great thing about doing this, is that it let's you learn a thing or two about things that may or may not be of interest to you.
