Why do you send messages, call, or communicate with people? You either want to share something with them or are looking for some sort of response. People who respond to messages, utterances within conversation, even with mundane, "really?" or "ok" are very considerate. Responding to people really is a form of respect. When someones says something to you, ignoring it is showing disrespect for that person's opinion. In the last few days, both in conversation and in digital communication I have gotten response for some of the most mundane things. And I realised how important it really is to acknowledge that someone has said something. As mentioned in earlier posts, whatever we do say is a token to the universe on some level, and if it is not being responded to, or acknowledged, that really is a sign of disrespect. Someone is wanting to share something with you, and closing the door on them is limiting yourself and that other person. So, this post is a formal thank you to the people who actively listen, who respond and acknowledge that yes, although not always ground breaking , each of our respective statements are valuable.
