Day 103 - today

I had three separate conversations today that involved the idea of living in the moment. So much of our worlds revolve around what is happening tomorrow, a week from now, a year from now etc. What's your five year plan? When are you getting married? What's your career path? When are you going to buy a house? Go, go, go, plan, plan, plan and forward march! Everyone is so concerned about bettering their tomorrows. Sure, having a general plan is good, but at the same time, you can't expect to know everything at once. And confining yourself to a plan that's made five years, three weeks or even an hour before, may not reflect your current state. Plans change. Letting your plan sort itself out as you go, by taking it one day at a time, will let you live a happy life. Knowing where you're going, while enjoying the present is crucial. Being thankful for each day. Waiting for tomorrow to be happy isn't living a happy life. You can't work towards a happy life to come, life is a process. Because at that rate will that time ever actually arrive or will you just end up planning the next milestone instead? Unless you're enjoying the process, what's the point really?
