There are a few people in your life that you let in enough to see the more unpolished and unpleasant parts of yourself. You know, the ones who've seen and spoken to you first thing in the morning without brushing your teeth, let alone showering. Or the friends who go to the bathroom while on the phone with you, don't act like it's never happened to you. These sort of things are signs of a very comfortable relationship between two people. And its these friends that you know you can keep around for a long time. Why? Because you've reached a point where there's no shocking them, which means both of you have the capacity to bring anything to the table, and somehow it'll be ok and dealt with.
