We all go through phases in our lives where we explore things that aren't necessarily 'true to us', act foolish and succumb to our insecurities. These are phases of discovery and development and sometimes times where we may act out of character. This behavior can easily isolate us from certain people. But there are friends out there that understand our patterns and let us grow. They may not agree with the way we are acting, but they understand that sometimes people need to go through things, and will stick by us and offer support when they can. This is a sign of a true friend. They offer their advice and try not to judge. They understand that although we act out of character, divert from ourselves (in a mostly superficial way), that to our core we still are the friend they know and love. They can see us better than ourselves sometimes, especially at moments when we act foolish . But it is important to explore that stupidity, because it usually brings us back to ourselves eventually.
