I was born on Christmas Day, this often makes celebrating my birthday rather difficult. However, my friends threw me a surprise birthday celebration amongst their own holiday celebrations tonight. I think surprise parties are special because they are meant to celebrate a person's successes, birth (or existences) and contribution as a friend. They instill the sort of appreciation that I write about in this blog, because they are not asked for and are celebratory, they show genuine appreciation. So today I am thankful for my wonderful friends who took the time to think and plan something in order to celebrate my often overlooked birthday. It really means the world to me, and I will forever remember tonight.
